Laserable Branding
Bright Beam Goods is the name for a line of games, puzzles, and home goods created and produced by MakeATX. Originally, products were branded as MakeATX, but due to sales increasing outside of the Austin area, the line was rebranded for a more universal appeal.
The Bright Beam Goods logo is designed to be laser-cut and etched into products without any parts of the letters being lost. The logo also has various weights with different typographic characteristics. The thinnest version is hairline thick, which allows the laser cutter to draw the logo in a single stroke format, which saves time during production.
The asterisk part of the logo is often used by itself as a mark for the products without the branding overshadowing the product itself.
Signage and Displays
Signage for retail and wholesale shows were cut from the same materials as many of the products, giving the brand a conceptually aligned and monolithic feel in the selling environment. Acrylic inlays would be added to birch to creat a bright color pop agaist a natural material background. Price signs were cut and etched on the laser as well. Booths would be set up with cork floors, birch plywood walls, tables, and shelves, making the booth stand out from booths using store-bought materials.
Business Cards
Business cards were designed to send people to the online stores to buy products and given out to people that purchased certain items as a reminder. With this in mind, many different versions of the business cards were created to match the large selection of product categores Bright Beam Goods makes.
As the buisness expanded, different products were introduced and the cards were redesigned with new product photography and layouts. These cards were made more for retail use than wholesale.
Brand Collateral
Other items were created for the brand besides products and displays. Items such as stickers, business cards, and brochures with a clean color block style and grid-based photography layouts. The Made in Austin Texas stickers are placed on product packaging to connect the new brand to the original MakeATX brand as well as to let buyers know where the products are made.
For each product category, a z-fold brochure was designed to show the entire collection. These were given to wholesale customers who did not buy across all categories, but only wanted one kind of product for their store.
