Great Ideas of Western Man
The Container Corporation of America assembled some of the greatest artists and designers of the 1930s and 40s. The publication is designed as a coffee table book and includes the book cover and a few sample spreads. The book is a collection of artwork commissioned by the CCA to various artists and designers to help promote the efforts of the war. The CCA invented paperboard so it was a natural choice to design the book cover using the same material. All the typography and layouts reflect the style of the era in order to clearly inform as well as be visually appealing.
