Once More, Underscore Galore!

The third part in the trilogy of failure, where typography and illustration are front and center, but with a little more emphasis on the illustrations this time. Underscore Galore explores over a year of change after moving across the country, growing into a more complex person, and just puting unfiltered ideas into existence. These illustrations work with a small color palette, dotted textures, and a collection of six different monospaced typefaces to test what detail can be extracted from minimalist styling. See if you can find the underscore in every illustration.

Underscore Galore is an extension of Vast Asterisk, but takes on a more digital aesthetic. The grid structure is prominent in the work and there is more emphasis on using texture to vary color. Subseries entries also play a role, where recurring thoughts and ideas repeat as smaller collections.

The illustrations were posted occasionally on social media where they can be distributed by the algorithm.
